Teachers Rewarded for Excellence as Ikwera Primary School Celebrates Academic Milestone

Kwania– In a passionate address to parents during a community rally, James Ocen, Director of Faith Secondary School, urged parents to prioritize their children’s education and ensure they remain disciplined and God-fearing. Ocen emphasized the importance of keeping children in school and paying their fees, stating that education is the key to a brighter future for both the children and their families.

“I want all parents to take good care of your children. Ensure they are disciplined and follow only God. Continue paying their fees, let them stay in school, and finish their education. When they become doctors or professionals, you will be the ones to benefit in the future,” Ocen said.

The rally also highlighted the success of Ikwera Primary School, which recently celebrated outstanding results in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). Joseph Ogwal, the head teacher of Ikwera Primary School, attributed the school’s performance to teamwork among the management, teachers, parents, and students.

“Our good performance is a result of hard work from all of us—the school management, teachers, parents, and students. We want to thank every stakeholder who contributed to our success last year,” Ogwal said.

Ikwera Primary School recorded impressive results in the 2024 PLE, with 25 students in Division One, 58 in Division Two, and 2 in Division Three. In recognition of their hard work, teachers were awarded gifts for their dedication and contribution to the school’s success.

Samuel Bunga, the Kwania District Inspector of Schools, commended the school’s achievements but set an even higher target for the district. “We want more than 300 students to achieve First Grade this year, and Ikwera Primary School must produce more than 80,” Bunga stated.

The event underscored the importance of collaboration between schools, parents, and the community in fostering academic excellence. Parents were encouraged to continue supporting their children’s education, while students were urged to remain focused and disciplined.

As kwania continues to rally behind its educational institutions, the message is clear: education is the foundation for a prosperous future, and every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
