The Territorial Police in Kole District have launched investigations into an alleged case of embezzlement involving funds belonging to Olipa Primary School in Alito Sub-county. According to police, the case was first reported at Alito Town Council Police Station on October 15, 2025, before being transferred to Kole Central Police Station for further management.

The complaint was filed by Omara James Leo, the School Management Committee (SMC) chairperson, who reported that the school’s head teacher, Atim Simon Peter, had withdrawn UGX 10,200,000 from the school’s Stanbic Bank account on October 2, 2025, and subsequently disappeared. The funds, totaling UGX 10,243,333, had been credited to the account on September 22, 2025, and were meant for planned school activities discussed during a staff meeting on the day of the withdrawal.

Police say the suspect remained missing for several weeks before being located and arrested on November 20, 2025. Statements from relevant parties have been recorded and added to the case file as part of the ongoing inquiry.

North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, confirmed the arrest and said investigations are still underway.
