I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

LIRA CITY, Uganda – Parents of pupils at Veersity Junior School in Lelapeta, Lira City East Division, have been urged to fulfill their obligation of paying school fees to secure a bright future for their children.

The call was made by Prof. Alfred Obia, one of the school directors, during a dedication prayer service for P.7 candidates held on Saturday at the school, located opposite Anai Primary School.

Prof. Obia emphasized that parents must ensure fees are paid promptly, noting that a good education is the foundation of a successful future.

"Parents should ensure they pay money if they want their children to have a bright future and good education," Prof. Obia said. He added that the school has already done everything possible to ensure that its pupils excel in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

Speaking at the same event, another director, Ms. Susan Okello, advised parents not to allow their children to become idle during their free time. She warned that redundancy could expose learners to risky behaviors such as smoking marijuana and other vices.

"Parents should not allow their students to be redundant. They should keep them busy to avoid them from doing wrong things like smoking marijuana and others," Okello said.

The Headteacher of Veersity Junior School, Mr. Clement Kotol, urged parents to allow their pupils to continue with education after completing P.7, stressing the importance of sustained academic progression.

Kotol also cautioned parents to be keen on their children's discipline, noting that the school takes discipline seriously and instills good conduct in its learners.

The event saw 30 P.7 candidates blessed by religious leaders, with the pupils expressing optimism that they will pass their exams with flying colors.

The dedication prayer served as both a spiritual send-off and a rallying call for parents to remain actively involved in their children's education as the candidates prepare for their national examinations.
