Pakistan Association Uganda-Lira Invests in Lango: Health Camps, Clean Water, and Girl Child Education
I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

Lira, Uganda – The Pakistan Association Uganda (PAU), Lira Chapter, under the leadership of President Muhammad Nasir Mian and General Secretary Waseem Muhammad, has announced a comprehensive development package aimed at transforming the lives of the Lango people. The organization is currently lobbying for the establishment of a dedicated health care camp, while simultaneously rolling out initiatives in education, clean water, and job creation.

Speaking to our reporter, President Nasir Mian outlined the association’s multi-pronged strategy to uplift the community. A key priority is the health sector, where the association is actively lobbying government and development partners to set up a permanent or mobile health camp specifically for the Lango people, ensuring accessible medical care for the region.

In a significant boost to the local economy, PAU-Lira is bringing investors into the Lango sub-region. A prime example of this is the Mian Group of Companies, which has already established operations in the area and currently employs over 150 people from the local community. The association plans to expand this model to create even more employment opportunities for the youth.

Education remains a cornerstone of their charity work, with a strong focus on the Girl Child. The association is extending its support to schoolgirls by distributing sanitary pads and other essential items, aiming to keep them in school and improve their academic performance.

Furthermore, the association is addressing the critical need for clean and safe water. Plans are underway to repair broken boreholes and wells across various villages, a move that will save residents from traveling long distances in search of water and reduce waterborne diseases.

President Nasir Mian reaffirmed the association’s commitment to the development of the Lango community, stating that PAU-Lira is not just a cultural organization but a partner in progress. General Secretary Waseem Muhammad added that the association is working closely with local leaders to ensure these projects reach the people who need them most.

The Lango community has welcomed these initiatives, expressing optimism that the partnership with PAU-Lira will lead to sustainable development and improved livelihoods in the region.
