UNEB Cautions Heads on Fake Officials Promising Grade Fixes
I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

KAMPALA – December 23, 2025. The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a stern warning to heads of examination centres and the public against a growing scam involving fraudsters impersonating members of the Board’s Security Committee.

In a press statement (Ref: UNEB/24) released today, the Board revealed it has received reports of impostors contacting headteachers and school directors. These individuals fraudulently solicit money, promising to either "improve" candidates' grades or remove schools from lists of those suspected of examination malpractice.

"The Board does not condone such a vice," stated Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, the Principal Public Relations Officer (PPRO). "We hereby caution all Heads of Examination Centres at all levels against any involvement with such impostors. The UNEB Security Committee does not operate in this manner."

UNEB emphasizes that its official processes for handling examinations and any related inquiries are transparent and institutional, never involving individual solicitation of payments.

The Board has made a public appeal, urging anyone approached by these con artists to immediately report the matter to the nearest police station or directly to UNEB using its toll-free lines: 0800-111-427 or 0800-211-077.

In a bid to encourage reporting, UNEB has assured the public that individuals who provide useful information leading to the exposure of these fraudsters will be protected under the Board's Whistleblower Policy.

"Anyone providing the Board with useful information to this effect will be protected," the statement affirmed.

All schools and stakeholders are advised to exercise vigilance and verify the identity of any individual claiming to represent UNEB on official matters by contacting the Board directly through its published official communication channels.
