Unity in Action: Dorcas Acen Supports Muslims in Ajuri County with 450kg Posho and 100kg Sugar

In a remarkable display of unity and generosity, Alebtong District Woman Member of Parliament, Dorcas Acen, visited several mosques in Ajuri County on 07 march 2025 to support the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan. The MP distributed a total of 450 kilograms of posho (maize flour) and 100 kilograms of sugar to various mosques, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and shared humanity.  


During her visits, Acen expressed her gratitude to the Muslim community for their commitment to the values of unity and sharing, which are central to the Islamic faith. Accompanied by her political assistant, Moses Otongo Muziki, Acen reiterated her commitment to inclusivity, stating that no community should feel neglected. Muziki emphasized that the visit was a deliberate effort to bridge gaps and foster unity among all residents of Lango, regardless of religious affiliation.  


The gesture was warmly received by local leaders and community members. Hanifa Aceng, the Women Representative in the Office of the County Khadi, praised Acen for her thoughtful initiative and expressed confidence in her leadership, urging voters to support her re-election in 2026. Similarly, Fazil Okwir, the Moroto West County Khadi, thanked the MP for her visit, noting that such acts of kindness by leaders are rare but deeply appreciated.  


In her remarks, MP Dorcas Acen promised to extend similar support to the people of Moroto County, reaffirming her dedication to serving all communities equally. Her Ramadan outreach has not only provided much-needed relief but also strengthened the bonds of unity and mutual respect in the region.
