KOLE – For five days starting May 4, 2026, smiles will be literally. Community Focus International (CFI), a Uganda-U.S. registered nonprofit, is bringing free dental health services to Lela Village, Ayer Sub-county, offering tooth extractions, cleanings, and fillings to all who walk through the door.
The dental camp will run from May 4th to May 8th at the Community Focus Learning Center. Organizers have issued a simple message to residents: "Come one, come all."
Services on offer
No one will be turned away. The CFI team will provide:
· Tooth Extraction – for severely damaged or decayed teeth
· Dental Cleaning – to remove plaque and prevent gum disease
· Tooth Filling – to restore cavities and stop further decay
The initiative, branded under the banner "Hope & SMILES," reflects CFI's broader mission of restoring dignity and well-being to underserved communities.
While the dental camp is this week's headline, CFI's core work extends far beyond oral health. The organization specializes in enriching the lives of persons with disabilities by manufacturing customized wheelchairs designed to promote independent mobility.
"Through this initiative, CFI fosters inclusivity and accessibility in communities, empowering individuals to navigate their surroundings with ease and dignity," the organization stated.
Each wheelchair is tailored to the user's specific needs—a departure from one-size-fits-all solutions that often fail those with complex mobility challenges.
