Oyam, Uganda – Concerns have emerged over the whereabouts of Ojok Oscar, who was reportedly taken from his residence on February 25, 2025, by individuals dressed in military uniforms. Oscar, who serves as the personal assistant and brother of Queen Dorothy Amolo, was allegedly handcuffed and transported toward Kampala.
In a statement, Queen Dorothy Amolo expressed deep concern over the incident, revealing that she has been actively seeking clarity on whether Oscar’s arrest was related to a legitimate legal matter or had political motivations. Given her strong political stance over the past decade, she noted that she and those close to her have faced repeated threats.
While she refrained from labeling the incident an abduction, Amolo emphasized the conflicting accounts surrounding Oscar’s disappearance. His brother, Jerome Ongom, informed close contacts that Oscar had called him, requesting the removal of a Facebook post that alleged he had been abducted. Additionally, Oscar’s cousin, Daniel, who was present during the arrest, confirmed that Oscar had asked him not to inform anyone about the incident.
“These circumstances make it difficult to determine whether Oscar was arrested due to a personal legal matter and needs space to handle it, or if he was indeed abducted,” Amolo stated.
She has called on the relevant authorities to provide clear information regarding Oscar’s whereabouts and the reasons for his detention. Amolo also urged all concerned parties to ensure his safety and uphold his fundamental rights.
The situation remains uncertain, and further updates are expected as investigations continue
