Lira City, Uganda – March 2025
Dr. Isaac Orec, Director of Victoria School of Nursing and Midwifery in Ireda East, Lira City, has announced exceptional results for the December 2024 examinations administered by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examination Board (UNMEB).
Speaking to the public, Dr. Orec expressed his gratitude and excitement over the performance of the continuing students, whose results were officially released on February 20, 2025. The final-year students’ results are still pending.
Out of the 294 students who sat for the exams, all passed their practical assessments, achieving a 100% success rate. Notably, 223 students attained distinctions in their practicals, demonstrating the school’s commitment to high-quality training and comprehensive education.
Dr. Orec credited this achievement to the school’s balanced training approach, emphasizing the importance of practical skills as a combination of all subjects. He extended his appreciation to parents, teachers, and tutors, especially under the leadership of Principal Madam Joyce Alupo. Additionally, he acknowledged the critical role played by government partnerships, particularly under Uganda’s public-private partnership framework, guided by President Yoweri Museveni’s administration.
“We are committed to producing five-star nurses and midwives who will strengthen Uganda’s health system and contribute to universal health coverage in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4,” Dr. Orec stated.
Victoria School of Nursing and Midwifery continues to position itself as a center of excellence in health education, equipping students with the skills necessary to serve communities and improve healthcare standards across Uganda.
