Prayer and Unity Take Center Stage as QFM Radio Visits St. Paul Maruzi Seed Secondary School Chapel

Maruzi, 9th March 2025– In a powerful demonstration of religious unity, students and staff at  Maruzi Seed Secondary School gathered at the school chapel for a special Lent prayer service organized by QFM Radio. The event brought together members of various religious denominations, including the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG), Anglican Church, Islam, and the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) community, to pray and reflect on the significance of the Lenten season.

The service, held under the theme of unity and faith, was part of QFM Radio’s “Sunday Gospel Explosion” initiative, which aims to foster spiritual growth and bring communities together through prayer and worship. Ambrose Angura, popularly known as the Bishop of the QFM Diocese, led the program, emphasizing the importance of collective prayer and reflection during Lent.

Ivan Ocwaa, Chairperson of the Catholic Community at Maruzi Seed Secondary School, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to unite people of different faiths. “This service is a reminder that despite our denominational differences, we are all on the same spiritual journey. We thank God for bringing us together in prayer,” he said.

Odongo Brian, Chairperson of the Scripture Union, encouraged students to use the Lenten period as a time for deep reflection and prayer. Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Jesus in the wilderness, he urged the students to remain steadfast in their faith and maintain purity in their spiritual lives.

The service was further uplifted by an inspiring message from Odongo Jaspher, who led the congregation in prayer. He reminded the students of the importance of putting God first in all aspects of life. “Do you believe in God who has sent you? That means you’re believing in me. If you believe in Christ, all your problems will be solved,” he said. “We only need to believe in His word, and the Holy Spirit will lead us wherever we go.”

Jaspher also addressed the challenges faced by individuals, likening them to mountains placed by the devil to hinder progress. However, he reassured the students that with unwavering faith in Christ, even the most daunting obstacles can be overcome. “With faith, no mountain is too high to move. Trust in God, and He will guide you through every challenge,” he added.

The event was a testament to the power of collective prayer and the unifying spirit of Lent. Students from different faith backgrounds joined hands in worship, showcasing the strength of diversity and the shared values of hope, faith, and love.

QFM Radio’s “Sunday Gospel Explosion” initiative continues to make a significant impact across communities, bringing people together through the power of prayer and reflection. This special service at St. Paul Maruzi Seed Secondary School not only strengthened the spiritual bonds among students but also highlighted the importance of unity in faith.

As the Lenten season progresses, the message of hope and togetherness shared at Maruzi Seed Secondary School serves as a reminder that faith transcends denominational boundaries, bringing people closer to God and to one another.
