Otuke RDC Abdul George Warns NRM Against Division Over Party Elections

Alyet Trading Center, May 12,2026– Abdul George, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Otuke, has called for unity among National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters during and after party structure elections.

Speaking at Alyet Trading Center, where he monitored the ongoing Alyet Parish NRM leadership elections, Abdul George emphasized that internal polls should not create divisions within the party.

Abdul George urged losing candidates to accept defeat gracefully and work with the winners for the party’s progress.

"NRM structure elections must not split our supporters. Those who lose should support those who win because unity is key to our success," he said.

The RDC, who is also eyeing the Erute South parliamentary seat on the NRM ticket in 2026, stressed the need for a united party in the constituency.

"I want to see a strong and united NRM in Erute South because division weakens our chances against opponents," he added.

If he secures the NRM ticket, Abdul George is expected to face stiff competition, including from former State Minister Sam Engola, in the party primaries.

Abdul George’s remarks come as NRM conducts grassroots elections, which sometimes spark tensions among supporters. He warned that internal conflicts could undermine the party’s dominance in the region.

"NRM’s strength lies in unity. Let us compete fairly, accept results, and move forward as one family," he concluded.
