I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

OYAM, UGANDA – The race for the Oyam South Member of Parliament seat took a dramatic turn as aspirant Queen Dorothy Amolo publicly questioned the financial capacity of her seven male competitors, alleging they are resorting to loans and begging to fund their campaigns.

Addressing supporters, Amolo revealed she has received intelligence suggesting her rivals are struggling financially.

"I am getting reports that these men contesting with me, they don't have money," Amolo stated. "Others are still trying to borrow money from loans and they will put their house as surety. Others are still running to Lira to look for money."

She further claimed that the financial distress is so severe that some have yet to begin active campaigning.

"Some have not started their campaign because their pockets are free," she said, using a local expression for being broke. "And some of them are asking me to print for them posters. Can you imagine?"

Beyond the issue of campaign funds, Amolo issued a stern caution to the voters of Oyam, linking financial stability to effective representation. She warned against electing individuals who lack the voice to articulate the constituency's needs in the national assembly.

"I also caution the people of Oyam from electing people who cannot speak," she declared. "Taking them to parliament is like taking a dead body to parliament. They will not bring anything good for the Oyam people."

The analogy underscores her central campaign argument: that Oyam requires a vibrant, resourceful, and articulate representative, qualities she believes her current opponents lack.

Queen Dorothy Amolo is competing in a field of eight aspirants, where she stands as the sole woman. Her comments have intensified the political atmosphere in Oyam South, framing the election as a choice between a self-reliant candidate and others she portrays as financially desperate and potentially ineffective.

The seven male aspirants she references have yet to issue a formal response to these allegations.
