Maruzi North, Uganda — In a continued show of commitment to grassroots service, Maruzi North Member of Parliament Bernard Otim Odoc has donated a double cabin pickup truck to help his constituents, with a special focus on transporting sick individuals to hospitals and supporting other community activities.
The donation is the latest in a series of community-focused initiatives by the NRM flagbearer, who has previously supported maternal health by distributing over 300 mama kits and organized a major medical camp in partnership with former Health Minister who is now the government chief whip Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng.
"I will work hard to help my people of Maruzi North," Otim Odoc stated during the donation event, reaffirming his broader agenda for the constituency. He outlined key priorities including improving healthcare and education, eradicating poverty through wealth creation programs, and ensuring access to clean water.
Otim Odoc, a lawyer by profession and member of the patriotic league of Uganda (PLU) has gained a reputation for practical intervention. He previously repaired 24 boreholes across Chegere, Teboke, and Apac sub-counties, directly addressing the community's water crisis.
The medical camp held at Atar Health Center II, which featured specialists from Mulago and Mengo Hospitals, provided free consultations and eyeglasses to over 1,000 patients, demonstrating his commitment to healthcare access.
The vehicle donation has been welcomed by residents as a vital resource for emergency medical transport. "This initiative addresses a critical gap in our community where many have struggled to reach medical facilities on time," noted one local resident.
