Entrust EALA Seats to NRM Cadres — Group Urges President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to Back Dr. Tendo Ronex Kisembo

Kampala, Uganda — A section of East African integration advocates has appealed to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to support Dr. Tendo Ronex Kisembo as one of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearers in the upcoming East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) by-election.

In an open call, the group urged the President to entrust Uganda's two seats to NRM cadres whose commitment to the regional integration agenda is "principled, steady and not driven by transient considerations."

It is precisely for that reason, they argued, that the ticket should feature Dr. Tendo alongside one other candidate.

"His passion has not been episodic but deliberate and enduring, deepening people-to-people connectivity across partner states," the statement read, adding that Dr. Tendo's involvement in regional matters has been consistent, ideological, and service-oriented.

The proponents emphasized that Dr. Tendo has demonstrated proven passion and unwavering commitment to furthering the East African Community (EAC) integration process, making him a strategic choice for Uganda's voice in Arusha.

As the EALA by-election draws closer, the campaign continues to gain momentum under the hashtag #TENDO4EALA.
