Dara Christian High School Mourns the Passing of Headteacher Ayo Edward

Lira, Uganda – March 2, 2025


Dara Christian High School is in mourning following the untimely passing of its headteacher, Mr. Ayo Edward, who died on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Mulago National Referral Hospital at approximately 5 PM.


In a statement issued by the school’s management, the Board of Directors, Board of Governors, Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), and staff expressed deep sorrow over the loss of their esteemed leader. Mr. Ayo Edward was a respected educator and administrator who played a significant role in shaping the institution.


The news has also been communicated to parents, alumni (Dara Old Students’ Association), the Ngetta Community, staff of Truth Primary School, Victory Outreach Ministries, and the National Association of Secondary School Head Teachers – Lango Sub-region, among other stakeholders.


The school has assured the community that burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.


Mr. Ayo Edward’s passing is a significant loss not only to Dara Christian High School but also to the wider education community in the region. The Northern Times extends condolences to his family, colleagues, and students during this difficult time.
