KOLE, Uganda – In a bid rooted in grassroots representation and a promise of comprehensive development, Akech Loy Dorothy has officially declared her candidacy for the Kole District Woman Member of Parliament seat, carrying the slogan “Atedero pi atedero” (a local person for a local person).

Her official nomination is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, October 22, 2025, formally setting her on the campaign trail.

In her inaugural campaign message, Akech extended profound gratitude to the national leadership for establishing a foundation of security. “I want to thank His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and those in uniform for bringing peace to Lango and Uganda. God should bless you,” she stated, acknowledging the role of stability in enabling political and community progress.

Linking her local aspirations to the national political landscape, Akech Loy Dorothy called upon the electorate of Kole to mobilize support for both her parliamentary bid and the presidency of Yoweri Museveni.

“Let’s continue looking for votes for President Museveni and her vote for the development of Kole,” she urged, framing the dual support as a catalyst for the district's advancement.

Outlining her platform, the candidate pledged to be a relentless advocate for the improvement of key sectors in Kole District. She specifically committed to focusing on:

· Education: Enhancing the quality and accessibility of learning institutions.

· Wealth Creation: Initiating and supporting programs to boost household incomes and eradicate poverty.

· Health: Improving healthcare services and infrastructure for better community well-being.

· Infrastructure: Championing the development of roads and other vital public works.

The slogan, “Atedero pi atedero,” underscores her campaign's core message of authentic, home-grown leadership. It positions Akech as a relatable leader who intimately understands the local challenges and aspirations of the people she seeks to represent.
