Uganda’s voice in Arusha needs weight — Bushaara says Dr. Tendo Ronex Kisembo is that statesman

Kampala, Uganda — Everest Bushaara has thrown his full weight behind Dr. Tendo Ronex Kisembo as the best candidate for the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) seat in the upcoming by-election, describing him as a statesman who has quietly worked for regional integration long before the cameras started rolling.

In a statement released over the weekend, Bushaara argued that East Africa’s next chapter of integration requires more than speeches — it demands leaders who understand that sovereignty grows stronger when pooled for shared prosperity.

“Dr. Tendo Ronex Kisembo doesn’t just believe in East African integration — he has already lived it,” Bushaara said, citing the candidate’s years of work in economic diplomacy, trade linkages, and voluntary service that treats borders as bridges, not barriers.

Bushaara warned that Uganda’s voice in Arusha must carry negotiating weight to shape policy that puts national interests at the center of regional growth. “That requires statesmanship. That requires Dr. Tendo,” he added.

The EALA by-election is seen as a critical moment for Uganda to secure a strategic thinker who can turn the EAC Treaty from paper into pipelines, resolutions into roads, and ideals into expanded markets for farmers, traders, and innovators.
