TECEL Group Members Visit Akii Bua Construction Site, Chair Okello Applauds Unity and Development Mind

LIRA, Uganda – The Chairperson of TECEL Group, Washington Okello, has expressed profound amazement following a site visit to the ongoing construction of Akii Bua Stadium, stating that members can now speak confidently about the project when asked by the public.

Okello led a delegation of TECEL Group members to inspect progress at the stadium, which remains under construction. Speaking shortly after the tour, he said the group was thoroughly impressed by the pace and quality of work.

“We are amazed. Now, when people ask us about Akii Bua Stadium, we can talk well about it because we have seen with our own eyes how the work is progressing,” Okello said.

He drew a parallel to an earlier group visit to the Karuma Hydropower Dam during its construction phase, noting that witnessing major projects firsthand builds both trust and informed advocacy.

“Being in a group is so good. We went there as a team, just like when we visited Karuma during the construction of the hydropower dam. Seeing things for ourselves makes all the difference,” he added.

Okello took the opportunity to applaud members of TECEL Group, which currently boasts 100 members, for their strong unity and development-oriented mindset.

“I applaud all members of TECEL Group for the good unity you are showing and the development mind you have. That is what will move us forward,” he said.

TECEL Group, known for collective savings and investment initiatives, continues to encourage members to undertake joint site visits as part of fostering transparency and shared learning on national development projects.
