APAC, UGANDA – The Chairperson of Apac District Local Government, Hon. Ambrose Agech, has officially received a brand-new double-cabin vehicle from the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) to strengthen the oversight of a key climate resilience initiative.
The vehicle, registration number UG 1200679, was handed over this evening at the district headquarters. It is specifically designated to facilitate effective supervision, monitoring, and coordination of activities under the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP) in the district.

Receiving the keys, Hon. Agech expressed profound appreciation to MAAIF and the Government of Uganda for what he termed "timely and practical support." He noted that the improved mobility would be a game-changer for the district's technical teams.
"This vehicle will significantly enhance our field monitoring capabilities, enable robust technical backstopping, and ensure consistent follow-up on project interventions," Hon. Agech said. "It guarantees that our beneficiary farmer groups are not left behind and that they fully reap the benefits of this programme."
The UCSATP is a government initiative aimed at building resilience in agricultural communities by promoting practices that increase productivity while mitigating the effects of climate change.
District officials believe the new vehicle will bridge the gap between the planning table and the farm. By strengthening the district's capacity to oversee project implementation, it is expected to improve service delivery to local farmers and contribute to the successful achievement of the project's core objectives: increasing agricultural productivity, building resilience, and embedding climate-smart farming practices across Apac.
The handover marks a significant step in ensuring that technical staff can reach remote parishes and sub-counties to provide on-the-ground support, ultimately driving the district's agricultural transformation agenda forward.
