DOKOLO/APAC/KWANIA [Date, July 26,2025] – Delegates of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) from Apac, Kwania, and Dokolo districts have thrown their unanimous weight behind the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Annet Anita Among, endorsing her bid for the position of Second National Vice Chairperson (Female) on the party's Central Executive Committee (CEC).
The resounding endorsement came during separate consultative meetings held across the three districts on Saturday. A campaign team soliciting votes for Speaker Among met with the delegates, who declared their unwavering support for her candidature.
The Dokolo district delegation presented a particularly symbolic gesture of their backing. Alongside their pledge of votes, they gifted Speaker Among a traditional shield and spear.
Dokolo District Chairperson, James Otoo Apili, explained this gesture as a profound "sign of love, trust, and commitment" to her leadership.
Chairperson Otoo Apili, speaking on behalf of Dokolo delegates, swiftly linked their endorsement to critical development priorities for the district. "Now that we are endorsing and voting for Hon. Anita Among, we want her to help us get Dokolo Municipality," Apili stated emphatically.
He further highlighted the urgent need for healthcare infrastructure: "We also demand the elevation of Dokolo Health Centre IV to hospital status. The facility already has the necessary equipment and personnel; it only requires the official name change for elevation." Apili concluded Dokolo's key requests by calling for the tarmacking of the Dokolo to Amolatar road.
The message from Apac district echoed the focus on infrastructure. Jovino Akaki Ayumu, representing Apac delegates, outlined their expectations: "We need a fully equipped hospital with all necessary facilities and a small stadium for our community," Akaki stated, linking their support for Among to tangible improvements in public services and recreation.
Similarly, delegates from Kwania district expressed their endorsement while emphasizing their desire for increased government development initiatives in their area.
The unanimous endorsements from these three crucial Lango sub-region districts significantly bolster Speaker Among's campaign for the influential CEC position. The meetings underscored not only her political strength within the NRM grassroots but also the high expectations delegates place on her to champion their specific district development agendas at the highest levels of the party.
