President Museveni, UAE Foreign Minister Sign Key MOUs to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

State House, Entebbe – May 8, 2025

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Wednesday welcomed His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates’ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to State House Entebbe for high-level discussions aimed at deepening bilateral ties between Uganda and the UAE.


The two leaders held fruitful talks and witnessed the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) focused on key areas including energy, health, digital transformation, and infrastructure development.


“I had the pleasure of receiving His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at State House Entebbe. We had good discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, and we signed several MOUs in strategic areas to enhance our collaboration,” President Museveni said.


The agreements mark a significant step forward in Uganda’s engagement with the Gulf region, reflecting shared interests in economic development and innovation. Both leaders expressed optimism that the partnerships will lead to greater investment, job creation, and technological exchange between the two nations.


President Museveni extended a warm welcome to His Highness and expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s growing commitment to Uganda’s development goals.
