Lira, Uganda – In a move set to shake up local politics, Mr. Peter Okello Oyo has officially declared his intention to contest for the Lira District Chairperson seat under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag. Okello Oyo, a prominent figure in the region, announced his bid with a strong emphasis on unity, equitable service delivery, and socio-economic development.
“There will be no discrimination in service delivery," Oyo declared .
“I am coming to promote unity between Erute North and Erute South while focusing on critical areas like education, health, agriculture, job creation, and the construction of the Ogur District headquarters.
Oyo’s entry sets the stage for a *high-stakes showdown with the current Lira District Chairperson, RCM Okello Orik,who has also expressed interest in retaining his seat. The race is expected to be highly competitive, with both candidates rallying support across the district.
