Okot Bitek Supports Boda Boda Riders with 5M, Launches Shade Construction at Stages

Namasale,Amolatar district – In a significant move to support local boda boda operators, Kioga County Member of Parliament, Hon. Moses Junior Okot Bitek, donated 5 million shillings to the Namansale Boda Boda SACCO. The generous contribution aims to strengthen the riders' financial capacity and improve their working conditions.  


During the handover ceremony, Okot Bitek also distributed high-quality riding jackets to enhance safety for the riders. He emphasized the importance of protective gear in reducing accidents and ensuring safer roads.  


The legislator further announced the launch of shade construction at major boda boda stages across Namansale Town Council and Acii. These shelters will provide riders with protection from harsh weather, improving their working environment.  

Hon. Okot Bitek urged the riders to open individual bank accounts and strengthen their SACCO to access more financial opportunities.  


“When you organize yourselves into a SACCO, you become eligible for loans, grants, and support from financial institutions and well-wishers,"he said.  


The beneficiaries expressed gratitude, promising to utilize the funds and resources responsibly. The initiative is expected to boost the local boda boda economy and improve road safety in the region.
