Lira, Uganda – In a bold move to reshape grassroots politics, Alexis Ogwal Tom Alex has officially declared his intention to contest for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairperson seat in Lira City East Division.
Speaking to Karumapost, Alexis emphasized his commitment to “politics of inclusion,"stating that his leadership would not segregate between the rich and the poor but instead foster equal opportunities for all.
“Our people need unity, not division. The NRM is a party for everyone, and I will ensure that no one is left behind,"he said.

Alexis stressed the need for patriotic values,urging Ugandans to prioritize national development over partisan politics.
2. Stopping Defections & Strengthening NR
He vowed to unite party members,educate them on the importance of NRM ideology,and stop defections while mobilizing opposition members to join the ruling party.
3. Bridging the Gap Between Leaders & Voters
Alexis pledged to strengthen the relationship between elected leaders and voters, ensuring that community problems are addressed effectively.
4. Youth Mobilization & Business Growth
Recognizing the role of young people and entrepreneurs, he promised to promote NRM ideology among youth and support small businesses to grow through mentorship and financial guidance.
Alexis’ campaign has already gained traction among locals who believe his vision aligns with the needs of Lira City East.
“We need leaders who will unite us, not divide us. Alexis has shown that he understands our struggles,"said one resident.
As the race heats up, all eyes are on whether Alexis’s message of unity, development, and inclusive politics will win over NRM delegates in Lira City East.
