ZOMBO DISTRICT – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has expressed profound gratitude to the people of Zombo for their enthusiastic welcome, using the occasion to underscore the National Resistance Movement (NRM)'s role in establishing lasting peace across Uganda.

The President, speaking at a public rally, stated that for the first time in a long time, peace prevails in every corner of the nation, a achievement he attributes directly to the NRM's core principles.

"A key factor in this peace is our ideology of rejecting sectarianism based on religion or tribes," President Museveni declared. He posed a rhetorical question to the nation, challenging alternative viewpoints: "If you support sectarianism based on tribes or religion, how can you effectively build a national army?"

He argued that the security Ugandans now enjoy is not an accident but a direct result of a unified national identity and the strength of a national army built on non-sectarian foundations. "The peace we enjoy in Uganda is a result of our unity and the strength of a united national army," he emphasized.

Beyond the message of national unity, the President also turned his attention to the specific developmental needs of the Zombo people. He confirmed that the community had raised critical issues, including the pressing need for a district hospital and improvements to their road infrastructure.

In response, President Museveni made a direct commitment. "We will work to address these concerns," he assured the gathering, signaling impending government action on these key projects. This pledge was met with applause from locals who have long advocated for better healthcare access and improved transport links to boost economic activity in the region.

The President's visit and subsequent pledges have ignited optimism in Zombo, with residents hopeful that the commitment to a hospital and better roads will soon translate into tangible development, improving livelihoods in the district.
