Alebtong, Uganda – The Woman Member of Parliament for Alebtong District, Hon. Dorcas Acen, has lashed out at her potential challengers for the 2026 general elections, branding them as inexperienced, visionless, and unfit to represent the women of Alebtong.
Speaking on Tuesday at the burial ceremony of Puis Omara, a respected teacher in alebtong Atidi Cell, Alyec Ward in Alebtong Town Council, Acen declared that she remains the only woman with the strength, experience, and track record to advocate effectively for the district at the national level.
“They have no clear manifesto, no agenda for the people,” Acen said, directly criticizing those preparing to run against her. “Some are young people who belong in youth positions, others don’t even have husbands and now want to be Woman MP.”
Acen, who is seeking re-election in 2026, added that the position of Woman Member of Parliament requires maturity, a proven vision, and a strong moral foundation — qualities she believes her opponents lack.
“I am the only woman with a true vision for Alebtong. I have done much, and I will continue to do more for our people,” she stated.
Her remarks have sparked discussion and her supporters argue that Acen has earned her place through years of dedicated service and development-oriented leadership.
