MP Auma Distributes more than 4000 Sauce Pans Across Erute South,Warns Against Vote-Selling

AJIA PARISH, BAR / OLILO PARISH, ITEK / ALYET PARISH, AGALI SUB-COUNTY (ERUTE SOUTH)– July 20, 2025 – The Member of Parliament for Lira District, Hon. Linda Agnes Auma, has reaffirmed her commitment to her constituents by distributing more than 4000 sauce pans across multiple parishes in Erute South.

The distribution exercise, valued at approximately 140 Million Shillings, targeted households in Ajia Parish (Bar), Olilo Parish (Itek), and Alyet Parish (Agali Sub-county). Each aluminum sauce pan distributed has a market value of 35,000 Shillings.

Addressing jubilant crowds during the distribution events, Hon. Auma expressed deep gratitude to the people of these areas. "I sincerely thank you, the people of Ajia, Olilo, and Alyet, for your patience and unwavering support," she stated. "This distribution is a testament to my promise to serve you diligently. I want to assure you that I remain committed to fulfilling the pledges I made to the electorates of Lira District."

The MP seized the moment to deliver a strong message against electoral malpractice. She sternly warned constituents against selling their votes for short-term gain. "My dear people, I urge you not to sell your votes cheaply for 1000 Shillings or any small amount," Hon. Auma cautioned. "Your vote is powerful. Use it wisely to choose a leader who has a genuine heart for service and a proven track record of helping the community, not one who only appears during elections with empty promises."

The gesture was met with widespread appreciation from the beneficiaries. Many residents praised Hon. Auma for her consistency and dedication. "Hon. Auma Linda is a true leader who keeps her word," remarked one beneficiary from Ajia Parish. "She doesn't just make promises; she comes out and fulfils them. This saucepan, though seemingly simple, is a big help in our homes and shows she remembers us."

Echoing this sentiment, numerous constituents declared their intention to support her re-election bid in the upcoming 2026 general elections. "We have seen her work and her heart," stated a community elder in Alyet. "Because she delivers on her promises and truly cares, we will give our votes to Auma Linda again in 2026 so she can continue representing us effectively in Parliament."

The distribution of over 4000 sauce pans, costing an estimated total of 140 Million Shillings (4000 pans x 35,000 Shillings each), represents a significant investment by the MP in supporting household needs within her constituency, further solidifying her connection with the voters of Erute South and Lira District at large.
