Lira Woman MP Linda Auma Hails Hamson Obua’s Victory as NRM Northern Vice Chairperson
I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

LIRA DISTRICT– Lira District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Linda Agness Auma, has applauded Hon. Denis Hamson Obua upon his election as the new NRM National Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, describing his victory as a result of dedication, humility, and genuine engagement with party delegates.

In a congratulatory message, Hon. Auma said Obua’s victory was well-earned, noting that he traversed every corner of the region reaching out to delegates with “love, compassion, and utmost appeal.”

“Congratulations Comrade Hamson Obua upon your election as the NRM National Vice Chairperson - Northern Uganda. It was a journey, you reached each delegate from every region with love and compassion and utmost appeal. May God guide you in this new quest,” Auma stated.

Obua, who also serves as Government Chief Whip, defeated his rival, Hon. Sam Engola, in a highly contested race. Engola, a senior NRM figure and long-serving politician from Lira District, had enjoyed strong grassroots networks but was edged out in the decisive vote.

Hon. Auma, who is also the NRM District Chairperson for Lira, emphasized that Obua’s victory signifies renewed energy and unity for the party in Northern Uganda. She urged party members to rally behind the new CEC leader, stressing that the region must work together for the good of the NRM and the country at large.

Obua’s election is being seen as a generational shift in the party’s top leadership, with younger leaders now taking up critical roles to steer the NRM into the future.
