Engola Junior Okello Calls for Corruption-Free Leadership in Oyam NRM Chairperson Race

Iceme Town Council, May 11, 2025– Samuel Junior Engola Okello, former Oyam North parliamentary aspirant and current candidate for Oyam District NRM chairperson, has called on party supporters to elect a leader with a proven track record of integrity and effective leadership.

Speaking to the press in Iceme Town Council yesterday, Engola emphasized that for the NRM to strengthen its popularity and secure electoral victories in Oyam District, it must choose a chairperson free from corruption—one who is transparent, sound-minded, and experienced in leadership.

Engola stressed that the party needs a leader capable of countering opposition narratives, particularly the UPC’s claim that the NRM has failed in mobilization efforts. He positioned himself as the ideal candidate to dispel such notions and reinforce the UPC-NRM alliance’s visibility.

"The NRM must present a strong, credible leader to counter UPC’s propaganda. I am ready to bridge gaps and ensure our alliance yields tangible results for the people of Oyam," he stated.

While expressing his stance on the race, Engola commented on incumbent chairperson Onena Jaspher’s bid, stating that Jaspher’s focus appears to be on retaining his position rather than driving progress.
