Alebtong, Uganda – The Woman Member of Parliament for Alebtong District, Hon. Dorcas Acen, has once again demonstrated her commitment to uplifting her constituents by donating essential items and funding critical water projects in Ajuri County.
At the end of last week, Acen donated two large saucepans and 100 plates to the Alebtong Chicken Vendors Association,alongside a cash contribution of one million shillings to support their business operations.
In addition to supporting local traders, the legislator also prioritized access to clean water by repairing a borehole in Omanaabunga Village at a cost of 657,000 shillings.
Her generosity continued as she extended similar donations to the Orimakori Clan Catering Service in Amugu Town Council and the Adip Catering Services Group,providing each with two large saucepans and 100 plates.
She further allocated 450,000 shillings to fix a broken borehole in Adip Village,ensuring residents have reliable water access.
Speaking during the handover, MP Acen emphasized that her actions stem from a genuine desire to serve her people.
“This is my way of giving back to the community that entrusted me with leadership. I will continue to work for the betterment of Alebtong," she said.
Her political assistant, Moses Otongo Muziki,urged the people of Alebtong to recognize Acen’s dedication and support her re-election in 2026.
“It’s high time the people of Alebtong appreciate a leader who delivers. Hon. Acen Dorcas has shown consistency in service, and she deserves another term," Otongo stated.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying the donations will boost their businesses and improve livelihoods in the district.
As 2026 approaches, Acen’s continued grassroots engagement and development initiatives may well strengthen her political standing in Alebtong.
