Apala Town Council | March 25, 2025

Alebtong District Woman Member of Parliament, Dorcas Acen, has reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive development, assuring constituents that her projects will benefit everyone regardless of political or religious affiliation.

Speaking during a meeting with the Lango Community Group in Apala Town Council on Tuesday, Acen emphasized that her initiatives, such as the upcoming technical school and vocational training programs, are designed for all residents of Alebtong.

“I will not segregate people in all the development I am bringing to the people of Alebtong, irrespective of party or religion,"

she declared.”For example, His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni introduced the Parish Development Model (PDM) for everyone, not just NRM members. Similarly, my projects are for all."

During the engagement, Acen donated two large saucepans and 100 plates to the group to support their activities. She later extended similar support to the Obim Joint Group, reinforcing her dedication to grassroots empowerment.

The legislator also visited Abia Seed Secondary School, where she addressed young female footballers participating in an inter-school competition. Urging them to prioritize education.

“I want you young girls, after playing football, to go back and study hard. Your parents are struggling to pay your school fees, and you need to work hard. Young girls are the mothers of tomorrow, but you must study to be good mothers."Acen said

To boost their morale, she donated two footballs and Shs 500,000 to support the tournament.

Acen’s message centered on unity, education, and self-reliance, urging the youth to take advantage of government programs and her personal initiatives aimed at uplifting Alebtong.

Her approach mirrors President Museveni’s non-partisan development strategies, emphasizing that progress should benefit all citizens equally. With vocational training and catering skills programs in the pipeline, Acen is positioning herself as a champion of grassroots transformation in Alebtong.
