Akech Loy Dorothy Rejects Kole DWMP Results, Alleges NRM "Fabrication" & Vows Future Action

KOLE DISTRICT, UGANDA – July 18, 2025 – Aspiring District Woman Member of Parliament (DWMP) for Kole, Akech Loy Dorothy, has emphatically rejected the results of the recent NRM primary election held on July 17th, 2026, declaring them "fabricated" and alleging her true results were "interchanged."

In a public statement issued today, Akech expressed "many many thanks" to her supporters across Kole District but signaled her fight is far from over. "We know the total number of NRM voters who turned up in Kole yesterday? We therefore ignore the results fabricated against us," she stated, directly challenging the party's official outcome for the 2026-2031 DWMP ticket.

Akech claimed intimate knowledge of the voter turnout figures, using them as the basis to dismiss the declared results as illegitimate. She urged her supporters to "remain calm" while firmly asserting, "Truly I still remain your leader."

The statement concluded by indicating her next steps are under deliberation, stating, "our next move will be communicated as we continue with our consultative meetings within Kole District."

According to a source close to the candidate who spoke on condition of anonymity, these consultations are likely paving the way for a significant shift. The source confirmed that Akech Loy Dorothy, deeply dissatisfied with the NRM primary process and its disputed outcome, is now strongly expected to contest the Kole DWMP seat in the 2026 general elections as an Independent candidate.

This potential move sets the stage for a direct challenge to the official NRM flagbearer in Kole District. Akech's allegations of result fabrication and interchange within her own party primary highlight significant internal discord and raise questions about the process.

The NRM electoral commission has yet to publicly respond to Akech Loy Dorothy's specific allegations regarding the Kole DWMP primary results. Her statement and the prospect of an Independent run ensure the political landscape in Kole remains volatile.
