Kole District, Uganda – The Member of Parliament for Kole North, Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti, has expressed profound gratitude to his constituents following his swearing-in as a member of the 12th Parliament on May 15, 2026, marking the official start of his second term in office.
In a heartfelt message to the people of Kole North, Dr. Acuti thanked everyone who traveled to Kampala to join him for the swearing-in ceremony, acknowledging that their presence, prayers, and support meant a great deal to him.
"To those who could not make it to Kampala, I see you and I hear you," the MP said, extending his appreciation beyond those who physically attended the national ceremony.
Demonstrating his commitment to celebrating with his community, Dr. Acuti announced plans for thanksgiving ceremonies across the constituency. He confirmed that events would be organised in three locations: Aboke, Alito, and Okwerodot, to ensure that constituents from all parts of Kole North can mark the occasion together.
"The date for the thanksgiving ceremony will be confirmed and communicated soon," he stated, inviting all his supporters to join him in celebrating the beginning of his second term at home.
Dr. Acuti, who now enters his final term as MP for Kole North, made a firm commitment to his constituents: "I pledge to double what we achieved in the first term."
He outlined his focus areas for the 2026–2031 term, emphasizing the core responsibilities of a legislator:
· Legislation – Crafting and supporting laws that benefit Kole North and Uganda as a whole.
· Oversight – Ensuring government resources are properly utilized and accountability is maintained.
· Representation – Amplifying the voice of Kole North and ensuring constituent needs are addressed.
The MP further committed to working alongside the community to bring more development, better services, and stronger representation to Kole North. He pledged to ensure that the government's development agenda reaches the people of the constituency and translates into tangible improvements in their daily lives.

Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti first won the Kole North parliamentary seat in the 2021 general election. His re-election for a second term reflects the confidence his constituents have in his leadership and service delivery. As a medical doctor, he has also been recognized for his contributions to health advocacy within Parliament.
