Sarah Awor Angweri Slams Lango Ministers for Power Struggles, Urges Unity Amidst Chaos

Lira, Uganda –Sarah Awor Angweri, the female workers’ representative in Lira City Council and a hopeful for Lira City Woman MP, has publicly condemned the ongoing political fights between Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng and Gender Minister Betty Amongi, accusing them of prioritizing power and money over the welfare of Lango’s people.

Awor, who has been labeled a "runaway" by critics fearing the ministers' influence, dismissed the claims, stating, “I may not have money, but I am the voice of the people."

She challenged Amongi to explain the source of 800 million shillings reportedly spent on swamp repairs, questioning why such funds were allocated when the government only provides 1 billion per district

“After 2026, no one will come back to repair our broken bridges,"Awor warned, emphasizing that the ministers’ power struggles are diverting attention from critical development issues. She further lamented the plight of unemployed women being arrested while leaders engage in political battles, stating, “Children are on the streets, women are suffering, yet some people are eating their future."

Awor urged the people of Lango to shun divisive politics, calling for unity and accountability.

“These ministers are causing confusion instead of serving us. We must reject their selfish games,"she declared.

As tensions rise in Lango, Awor’s bold stance has sparked debate, with supporters praising her courage while opponents question her motives. With the 2026 elections approaching, her message resonates with many frustrated citizens demanding real change.
