Prof. Richard Nam Defeats Brothers, Re-elected Okii Amat Clan Head
I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

OKII AMAT – In an election that pitted brother against brother, Professor Richard Nam has been re-elected as the head of the Okii Amat clan, according to provisional results announced by the clan's electoral commission on Tuesday.

The clan headship contest took a remarkable familial turn, with Prof. Nam facing off against his two brothers: Justice Vincent Okwanga and Mr. Tommy Ojan Egit (commonly known as Ojan). The race drew intense interest, transforming a community leadership election into a closely watched family and political drama.

Announcing the provisional figures, the Chairperson of the Okii Amat Electoral Commission, Mr. Ben Alek Adoi, declared a clear lead for the incumbent. The tally placed Prof. Nam firmly ahead with 7,302 votes. His brother, Justice Vincent Okwanga, garnered 3,757 votes, while the third brother, Tommy Jan Egit (Ojan), received 1,542 votes.

"The electoral process has been peaceful and transparent," stated Mr. Adoi. "These are the provisional results from across all clan units. We are now finalizing the paperwork for the official declaration."

The results suggest a strong mandate for Prof. Nam’s continued leadership, giving him a lead of more than 3,500 votes over his closest sibling rival. His re-election is seen as an endorsement of his previous term's agenda and his vision for the clan's development, social unity, and cultural preservation.

The final, official result will be announced and the victory certified tomorrow at a ceremony scheduled for the Pacific Grand Hotel. The event is expected to draw clan elders, dignitaries, and all three brothers, marking a formal conclusion to the contest and the beginning of Prof. Nam’s new term.

Attempts to reach the winners and runners-up for immediate comment were unsuccessful. However, the atmosphere in Prof. Nam’s stronghold areas is reported to be celebratory, while calls for clan unity are anticipated from all sides following the official announcement.

The election underscores the unique intersection of modern electoral practices within traditional governance systems, demonstrating a robust democratic spirit at the clan level.
