Masaka Police Rescue Kidnapped 7-Year-Old, Arrest 12 in Daring Operation**
KALISIZO, MASAKA DISTRICT– In a swift and well-coordinated operation, the Greater Masaka Police have rescued a 7-year-old pupil kidnapped on March 21, 2025, and arrested 12 suspectslinked to the abduction. The victim, snatched while on their way to school in Dimo Landing Site,was safely recovered today after a dramatic police sting.
The Kidnapping & Ransom Plot**
The ordeal began at 7:00 AM when two men on a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle ambushed the child. The kidnappers later contacted the family, demanding UGX 200,000,which was paid—but all communication ceased afterward.
Fearing the worst, police launched an undercover operation, tricking the kidnappers into releasing the child at GAZ Petrol Station in Kalisizo under the false promise of a UGX 5 million ransom
Instead, officers swooped in, arresting multiple suspects as they attempted to transport the child via taxi.
Shocking Family Ties Among Suspects
Investigations revealed deep familial connections in the crime. Among those arrested: Lutaya Nelson(motorcycle rider)
,Maria Gorrete Nambajjo(accomplice)
,Namugamba Prossy(sister to prime suspect),Namukwaya Rosemary(mother to prime suspect),Serugo Matia(brother to prime suspect),Kasumba Yuda(father to prime suspect)
Also detained were friends and accomplices, including taxi driver Masereka Dennis and conductor Wamala Emma,who allegedly aided in the abduction plot.
Manhunt for Prime Suspect
The alleged mastermind, Tusibira Pius,remains at large. Police have urged the public to report any sightings, assuring confidentiality.
