Okii Raki Okwerocobo Clan Head Removed After 15 Years in Office
I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

Lira City – September 13, 2025

In a landmark announcement during an ongoing meeting in Lira City, Benard Aliro, the Chairperson of the Okii Raki Okwerocobo Clan Electoral Commission, officially declared the position of clan head vacant.

Aliro stated that the current clan head, Shaban Alunga Atepo, will no longer serve in the position, bringing an end to his 15-year leadership. According to Aliro, clan elections are constitutionally supposed to be held every five years, but Alunga has remained in office for three terms without a formal election process.“There are so many capable people who can lead this clan to glory,” said Aliro. “It’s time for leadership renewal and to respect our clan’s democratic traditions.”

The announcement marks a significant shift in the leadership of the Okii Raki Okwerocobo clan, with many clan members reportedly welcoming the call for transparency and accountability.

Aliro’s remarks have sparked immediate discussions among clan elders and youth representatives, with speculation rising about who could succeed Alunga in the upcoming elections.

The meeting in Lira City is ongoing, and further decisions regarding the election timeline and nomination process are expected to be released soon.
