APAC DISTRICT – In a significant push to win the support of constituents, Bernard Otim Odoc, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flagbearer for Maruzi North Constituency, has distributed more than 300 mama kits to pregnant mothers across the area.
The distribution drive targeted multiple parishes, reaching communities in Atopi, Akere, Atana, and Abedi in Apac Sub-county, as well as Ongica, Chegere, and Atigolwok in Chegere Sub-county. The initiative was widely welcomed, addressing a critical need for safe motherhood supplies in the region.
Speaking during the events, Odoc positioned the mama kit distribution as a precursor to a broader development agenda. He outlined his vision to transform Maruzi North by focusing on key sectors essential for community well-being.
"My commitment is to lobby for good health for the people, improve our schools, fix our roads, and champion wealth creation programs," Odoc told the gathered crowds. "This is just the beginning of our journey towards a better Maruzi North."
Positioning as the "Right Choice"
Going beyond the immediate charitable act, Odoc made a direct appeal to the voters' political judgment. He confidently presented himself as the most capable candidate to deliver on the constituency's development needs.
"I am the right choice for the people of Maruzi North because I have the ability to mobilize for development," he declared, emphasizing his capacity to attract resources and implement meaningful projects for the community.
The distribution of mama kits is a popular and impactful campaign strategy in Uganda, directly addressing maternal mortality and demonstrating a candidate's commitment to grassroots health issues. By coupling this action with firm pledges on infrastructure and the economy, Odoc aims to present a comprehensive plan that resonates with the everyday needs of the electorate in Maruzi North.
The event has undoubtedly set the stage for a competitive campaign, with Odoc leveraging both immediate community support and long-term development promises to solidify his bid for the parliamentary seat.
