Oyam District – Police in Oyam District are pursuing a 24-year-old man, identified as Aremo Tobby, who is wanted in connection with a case of unlawful wounding involving Ojok Patrick, 26, a resident of Akao-Idebe “A” cell, Western Ward in Iceme Town Council.

According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred on 29th August 2025 at around 2:00 am. It is alleged that Ojok Patrick attempted to steal animals from the home of Akullu Jusphine, the suspect’s mother, where cows were locked in a semi-permanent building.

The suspect, who had been asleep in his house nearby, was alerted and reportedly confronted the victim armed with a panga. Police say Tobby cut Ojok multiple times, inflicting injuries on his right knee, left leg, both arms, and the right rib. The victim was left too weak to move until morning.

At 9:20 am, the suspect’s mother, Akullu Jusphine, reported the matter to Iceme Police Station. The District Police Commander (DPC) Oyam and his team visited the scene, recorded statements, and issued the victim with a Police Form 3 for medical examination. Ojok Patrick was rushed to Anyeke Health Centre IV where he is receiving treatment.

North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema confirmed that the suspect is still at large but efforts are underway to apprehend him.

“We appeal to the suspect to surrender himself at the nearest police station for investigation. We also call upon members of the public with information on his whereabouts to alert the police,” SP Okema said.

Police continue to investigate the matter under charges of unlawful wounding.
