Agweng Town Council, Lira District –In a bid to fulfill her 2021 campaign promise, Lira District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Linda Agness Auma, on Saturday donated over 3,000 saucepans to residents of Acelela in Agweng Town Council.
The generous donation, which benefited nearly 3,000 people, was part of Auma’s commitment to improving household welfare in the district. During the handover ceremony, the legislator reassured her constituents of her dedication to delivering on her pledges.
“I made a promise in 2021, and today I am fulfilling part of it. My leadership is about action, not just words,"Auma stated.
She further urged the people of Lira District to trust her with another term in the upcoming elections, citing her track record of service.
In a separate event, MP Auma met with Team No Sleep,a youth group in Aromo Sub-County, where she donated Sh1 million to support their activities. She encouraged the group to form a cooperative society to attract more development opportunities.
“If you organize yourselves into a cooperative, I can link you to bigger projects and funding,"Auma advised.
Joe Otim, the chairperson of Team No Sleep, expressed gratitude for the support but highlighted the group’s struggle with limited resources. “We appreciate the MP’s donation, but we still need more assistance to grow our initiatives,"he said.
The events underscored Auma’s grassroots engagement as she continues to push for community empowerment in Lira District.
