Faith and Education: St Janan School Blesses PLE Candidates, Urges Parents to Prioritize Fees
I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

LIRA CITY – In a spirited send-off ceremony held on Saturday, At Janan Nursery and Primary School in Teso Bar, Lira City West Division, dedicated 10 Primary Seven candidates who are set to sit for the upcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

The event was graced by the guest of honour, Rev. Tonny Ebong, the Curate for Teokole Church of Uganda Ordinance, who officiated the dedication service. He offered prayers and blessings for the students, asking for divine wisdom and success in their exams.

Beyond the spiritual blessings, Rev. Ebong delivered a strong and pointed message to parents in attendance. He rallied them to fulfill their financial obligations by paying their children's school fees, framing education as an urgent and non-negotiable priority.

"Knowledge is calling for parents to pay fees so that students can acquire it," Rev. Ebong stated. He expressed deep concern over parents who neglect school fees while investing in other ventures.

He wondered aloud, "Why do some parents not want to pay fees, yet they are buying cars and constructing houses?" He concluded with a stark warning, emphasizing that "the parent who doesn't take children to school is like they are committing suicide," underscoring that denying a child an education is a fatal blow to their future.

Adding to the motivational speeches, the Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Mr. James Elem, addressed the candidates directly. He reminded them of their potential and responsibility as the next generation of leaders.

"You should know that you are the leaders of tomorrow, meant to replace the current leaders," Mr. Elem told the students. "But this does not come by chance; it needs hard work from you. Your success in these examinations is the first major step toward that goal."

The dedication ceremony served as both a spiritual bolster for the 10 candidates and a crucial community call to action, reinforcing the shared responsibility between the school, parents, and students in achieving academic success. The school and community now wait in hopeful anticipation for the students' results
