Bugolobi, Uganda – Dr. Ronex Tendo Kisembo, a candidate for the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), this afternoon paid a courtesy call on Hon. Captain Mike Mukula at his residence in Bugolobi.
The meeting, described by Dr. Kisembo as cordial and highly productive, centered on the current state of the East African Community (EAC) and the future of regional integration.
Dr. Kisembo, who serves as Chairperson of the Pan African Movement (Uganda Chapter) and is a known proponent of the Jumuiya integration agenda, used the opportunity to brief Hon. Mukula on his EALA aspirations. The two leaders shared extensively on what Dr. Kisembo termed the “EAC Dream” examining both progress made and challenges ahead.
“I thank him for the warm reception and the deep insights,” Dr. Kisembo said after the engagement. “We looked at where our regional integration stands today and what the future looks like for the people of East Africa.”
Hon. Capt. Mukula, a seasoned politician and former legislator, is widely respected for his Pan-African credentials.
Dr. Kisembo noted that Mukula’s counsel would be invaluable as he continues consultations ahead of the EALA elections.
The EALA is the legislative arm of the East African Community, with members drawn from partner states including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and the DRC. Dr. Kisembo’s bid positions him as one of the voices seeking to push for deeper political and economic integration across the region.
No further details were disclosed on the next steps of his consultations, but sources close to his campaign say more courtesy calls are planned in the coming days.
