I Will Vote Eddy Morrish Ogweng For MP Lira City West 2026-2031

Kichope, Uganda – In a significant step towards traditional leadership consolidation, Mr. Odongo David Kennedy, popularly known as DK Odongo, has been officially sworn in as the new Clan Head of Ober Pala. The ceremony, which took place on Saturday at Kichope, drew a large gathering of clan members eager to witness the handover of power.

The event was presided over by Commissioner of Oaths, Innocent Okuny, who administered the oath of office to the new clan leader. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as Odongo DK took the podium to outline his vision for the clan and the broader Lango community.

In his maiden address, Odongo DK struck a reconciliatory tone, explicitly addressing the internal conflicts that have historically plagued the Lango traditional leadership. He stated that while many clans have been marred by internal wrangles, such divisions would not be tolerated under his leadership in Ober Pala.

"Many clans have wrangles, but this will not happen in Ober Pala," Odongo DK declared. "We must look forward."

In a bold move aimed at addressing the larger tribal dynamics, the new clan head pledged to bridge the gap between the two rival factions currently vying for the leadership of the Lango tribe. He promised to actively engage both parties to chart a way forward, emphasizing that the future of the region depends on solidarity.

"Lango is unity is strength, not disunity is strength," he stated, correcting a narrative that has often divided the community. "We must unite and start moving towards development."

Adding weight to the transition, outgoing office bearer Felix Ayita formally handed over the instruments of power to Odongo DK. In his parting remarks, Ayita cautioned the new clan head to foster a collaborative working relationship with the elected leaders of the Ober Pala clan. He advised Odongo DK to prioritize consultation and transparency to ensure the smooth running of the clan's leadership structure.

The event concluded with celebrations from the community, who expressed optimism that the new leadership would bring stability and progress to the Ober Pala clan and the Lango sub-region at large.
