Canopy Wood Furniture Commissions UGX 300M Machines to Boost Quality and Efficiency

Lira City — Canopy Wood Furniture, one of the leading furniture manufacturers in Lango and Northern Uganda, has commissioned a new set of modern machines worth UGX 300 million at its timber yard in Lira City.

The newly acquired equipment includes surface planers, thicknessers, spindle moulders, ripping machines, cross-cutting saws, zig saws, drilling machines, router machines, and a variety of hand-portable tools. The investment is aimed at enhancing production capacity and improving the quality of furniture to meet international standards.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Tonny Omara, the Director of Canopy Wood Furniture, said the machines mark a turning point in their operations.

“We have always been known for quality work, and now with this advanced equipment, we can take our production to the next level,” Omara said. “Our customers, institutions, and partners can expect even more refined products built with precision and consistency.”

The commissioning event was graced by Pastor Sam Amuja from Victory Outreach Ministries, who led prayers and blessed the machines. He commended Tonny Omara for his innovation and commitment to local development.

“God will continue to be with you, Tonny, because of your vision,” Pastor Amuja said. “I also want to encourage youths from humble backgrounds to dream big—God can help turn dreams into reality.”

Canopy Wood Furniture has built a strong reputation over the years for producing high-quality furniture, serving schools, offices, and homes across Northern Uganda. The new machines are expected to expand its capabilities and open up opportunities for both employment and technical skill development in the region.
