Anthony Olobo Odur, the son of the revered Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii, has officially declared his candidacy for the Apac District LCV Chairperson seat in the 2026 elections, vowing to bring transformative leadership anchored in justice, transparency, and self-reliance.
Speaking with unwavering conviction, Olobo Odur—a lifelong servant of the people—shared his vision for Apac, shaped by personal struggles, including imprisonment and exile.
“I stand before you not just as a candidate, but as a man tested by time, committed to truth, good governance, and service above self," he proclaimed.
Olobo Odur emphasized that his manifesto is more than a list of promises—it is a “solemn covenant"with the people of Apac. His vision revolves around: Peace, unity, and self-reliancefor all citizens,Equal opportunities, justice, and sustainable development across the district,Transparent, inclusive, and accountable leadership rooted in human rights and the rule of law.
The aspirant also expressed solidarity with fellow contenders, including Ambrose Agec (son of former NRM Apac Chairperson Sam Opio Oceng) and the incumbent LCV Chairperson, Hon. Odongo Asanti acknowledging the democratic process ahead.
Born and raised in Apac, Olobo Odur framed his candidacy as a continuation of his family’s legacy of service, coupled with his own experiences fighting for freedom and justice. “Leadership is not about power—it’s about lifting others,"he asserted.
As the race heats up, Olobo Odur’s message of constitutionalism, community-driven development, and ethical governance sets him apart in what promises to be a competitive election.
