
Apac, Uganda | August 12, 2025 – The territorial police in Apac District have launched an investigation into the suspected murder of Ogwang Washington,a 66-year-old resident of Adok B, Alworoceng, Ibuje Sub-County whose lifeless body was discovered near his home on August 11, 2025.
According to reports, the deceased was last seen alive on August 10, 2025,when he left his home at around 11:00 AM to look for a grain milling machine. He later returned with a tapline, bathed, and headed to Alekoli Trading Center to watch football. However, he never returned home.
The following day, at approximately 2:00 PM,his body was found lying along the road near the trading center.
A concerned resident, Odyek Patrick (56) reported the incident to the police.
A case of suspected murder was registered at Kidirani Police Post and a team of officers, led by the OC Kidirani visited the scene. The body was retrieved and taken to Apac Main Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
As of now, no suspects have been arrested but police say investigations are ongoing.
SP Patrick Jimmy Okema,the Public Relations Officer for North Kyoga Region urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
The incident has left the Ibuje community in shock,with residents calling for swift justice. Authorities have assured the public that updates will be provided as the case progresses.
