Museveni’s Patriotism Initiative Praised as 1,054 Ajuri County Students Pass Out

Alebtong, April 18, 2025 – The Alebtong District LC5 Chairperson, David Kennedy Odongo, has called on parents to stop pointing fingers at their children when they make mistakes and instead offer proper guidance to shape their future.

Odongo made the remarks on Thursday, April 17, 2025, during the pass-out ceremony of 1,054 students who completed a one-week patriotism training at Amugu Secondary School playground in Ajuri County, Alebtong District.

He emphasized that many parents fail to advise their children on how to become responsible citizens, which affects their growth.

"Patriotism is crucial for young people because it prepares them to be future leaders—doctors, engineers, and professionals who will serve the nation with integrity,"Odongo said.

The training, conducted by the UPDF’s 5th Division under Captain Robert Kaweeds, aimed at instilling love for the country and a strong work ethic among students.

"This training helps young people to love their country wholeheartedly and work hard for its development," Captain Kaweeds stated.

Geoffrey Okiswa, the Alebtong Resident District Commissioner (RDC) and chief guest, urged the graduates to be exemplary citizens.

"The future of Uganda lies in your hands. Be good leaders, uphold dignity, and serve with honesty,"Okiswa said.

The students were drawn from nine schools across Ajuri County. Assistant RDC Jimmy Okello praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the patriotism initiative, saying it is molding disciplined and patriotic youth.

"President Museveni is still strong and will continue leading Uganda in the right direction as he has always done,"Okello affirmed.

The event concluded with a call for continued mentorship and support for Uganda’s youth to ensure a prosperous future.
